Prenergy generates photovoltaic solar energy for the self-consumption of the waste water treatment plant of Tivenys

Prenergy, the energy service subsidiary of the RUBAU GROUP, the specialist in renewable energy and energy efficiency, has set up a 30 Kwp (kilowatts of power) solar farm in the new waste water treatment plant (EDAR) of Tivenys. In this way, part of the energy that the plant consumes is generated on-site, which helps reduce the costs of the facility and make progress on the consumption of renewable energy. The new waste water treatment plant, which was put into service on the 14th of June, can meet the new sanitation needs of the town and guarantee quality treated water, in line with the provisions established in the Directive 91/271/EEC.

The new waste water treatment plant of Tivenys increases its power capacity by up to 150m3/day and it has an activated sludge process with the construction of a bioreactor, a purifier of the treated water and a sludge thickener. This system guarantees that the water is treated until the nutrients are eliminated, which provides the environment with good quality outgoing water.

As a result of the remodelling carried out by the companies AREMA, RUBAU and PRENERGY, the plant has doubled its waste water treatment capacity, which is environmentally friendly and it improves its energy efficiency. This collaboration demonstrates the commitment of the Rubau Group to promoting the circular economy and the Sustainable Development Objectives of the 2030 Agenda.

The mayor of Tivenys, Eladi Galbe; the president of the Baix Ebre County Council, Xavier Faura; and the director of the Waste Water Treatment area of the Catalan Water Agency (ACA), Isabel Gandullo, visited the new facilities and celebrated the start of the operations of the new waste water treatment plant.
